ANTONY WORRALL THOMPSOM - CELEBRITY DAD OF THE YEAR
TV chef Anthony Worrall Thompson has been named Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year 2005.
More than 26,500 people voted in the competition, which was launched on the Epson website in April. Worrall Thompson beat off stiff competition from Tony Blair, Bob Geldof and second-placed Coldplay singer Chris Martin to gain 15% of the vote as well as fellow celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver.
Jane Barnard, Epson's marketing communications manager, presented the award in a ceremony at London's Langham Hilton Hotel.
Worrall Thompson paid tribute to his wife: 'I'm absolutely delighted to win the Epson Celebrity Dad of the Year award. It's not easy balancing a hectic schedule with two kids, but I love it and couldn't possibly do it without the help of my wonderful wife, Jay. I feel pleased to have won with such a strong list of contenders.' |
