Brand: Power Devil Model: PDD2245KLLD Cordless Hammer Drill 24v Cost: £22 Website: www.amazon.co.uk
Serious power doesn’t always mean potent prices. If you’re boring into bricks, you’ll need a hammer drill of at least 18 volts and this bad boy may be unwieldy but it’s a lot of tool for the lolly.

Brand: Dremel Model: 10.8v Lithium-Ion Cordless Cost: £70 Website: www.dremeleurope.com
Looks like an electric screwdriver, but is an even more powerful tool than Michael Howard, that handles countless tasks with panache. There are cheap imitations. However, the original is still the best.
