Christmas is on its merry way, so let’s make our way to some great festive outings.

Christmas fairs are special. Not much can beat the feeling of walking around in the chilly cold weather, drinking mulled wine, enjoying the traditional wooden rides, ice rinks and much more with the family.

With that in mind, here are some of the best known and unknown fairs this Christmas to go to.

St Nicholas Christmas Fair, York

ChristmasYork is a charming and lovely city. Add in the festivity of Christmas season and you’re in for a family filled fun day out at St Nicholas Fair. Take a walk through the fair’s lit street and enjoy the medieval charm and scents of spiced mulled wine. There’s something for everyone, be is ice skating or spending the night in the stalls for some playful panto fun. Immersed in tradition and bustling with activity, the historic streets of York come alive during the wonderful winter months.

Winter Wonderland, London

This festival needs no introduction. It’s easily one of the biggest and most beautiful fairs during Christmas time. Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is a magical place with an aura of serenity – I speak from experience. They’ve got lots in store including  new attractions like Peter Pan on Ice, Teletubbies Christmas Show and ice sculpting workshops. Don’t worry, though, as all the popular favourites will be returning from last year with an even bigger ice rink, jaw dropping acts in the Circus MegaDome and many more exciting attractions.

Leeds Castle Christmas Market, Kent

ChristmasVisit the Christmas Market on the Cedar Lawn, overlooking Leeds Castle, to discover a splendid array of seasonal gifts, toys, festive decorations, specialist food and drink. In the centre of the market visitors can enjoy nostalgic fairground rides on the Victorian carousel or take a leisurely trip on the big wheel for a spectacular view of the castle. Whilst live music from the band stand each day will keep everyone entertained.
