Running out of ideas of what to watch with your kids? We’ve compiled a list of the top six upcoming films to help.

With big-game titles like Peter Rabbit, Incredibles 2 and Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, 2018 has already been an excellent year for new child-friendly cinema. But 2018 isn’t over yet, and there are still plenty of opportunities to go to the big screen with your kids. We’ve selected the top six most exciting upcoming films to watch with the whole family.

Smallfoot

Released on 5th October in UK cinemas, Smallfoot tells the story of Migo, a friendly Yeti who discovers something he’d never seen before – a human being. Banned from his home when the rest of the villagers don’t believe his story, he sets out to find the creature to prove them wrong.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween is the second full-length feature film based on R. L. Stine’s bestselling horror novels for children. It’s released in UK cinemas on October 19th, just in time to get into the Halloween spirit.

Mowgli

While you might be wondering why yet another Jungle Book adaptation is necessary, this version promises to be more sombre, serious and dark than all previous versions. Released in UK cinemas on October 19th, it promises to bring a more sombre tone of the classic tale to the big screen.

Johnny English Strikes Again

It’s been seven years since the last Johnny English film hit the cinemas. Rowan Atkinson returns on 12th October with the iconic James Bond parody. This time, English is called out of retirement to tackle a serious case of a cyberattack, revealing the identities of all active undercover agents in Britain.

The Grinch

Released on 9th November 2018 in UK cinemas, The Grinch is another remake which shows great promise. After the disastrous 2000 remake with Jim Carrey, this one promises to stick to the roots of Dr. Seuss’ timeless classic with the voice of big-time celebrity Butternut Crinklefries (or was it Benedict Cumberbatch?).

Mary Poppins Returns

A tongue-in-cheek sequel to the classic Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns will hit UK cinemas on 21st December 2018, just in time for Christmas. Starring Emily Blunt in the title role, the famous nanny returns to her former charges to help them with their own children in Depression-era London.
