We check out the much-anticipated home entertainment release of Teen Titans GO! To The Movies.

Based on the successful Cartoon Network series Teen Titans Go!, which is an adaption of of the DC comic superhero team of the same name, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is a hilarious, selTeen Titansf-referential look at genre of superhero films that both kids and adults will love.

The story goes that Robin needs an arch-nemesis to get the attention of a famous superhero movie director (voiced by Kristen Bell). Robin convinces the rest of the Teen Titans — including Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven — that battling bad guy Slade will get them the required attention they deserve.

If your kids love The LEGO Batman Movie (in fact any LEGO film) and all those types of silly yet highly witty animated outings, then they’ll love this. And if you love comic books and their film adaptions, then you’ll laugh out loud at it too. And there are are many hilarious references in-jokes that it totally deserves a second watch (or three).

The special features on the DVD include a couple of short storyboard animatics – which are very cool to see. If you didn’t catch this at the cinema, it’s time to watch it in the comfort of your own home.

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is out now on DVD and digital download.
