How well do you know your inspirational children’s movie quotes?

New research recently revealed finds lines from Toy Story, The Wizard of Oz and The Jungle Book making the top 20 most inspirational children’s movie quotes.

The poll of 2,000 British adults is in support the launch of the Must See Movies Before You Grow Up. The new campaign from the UK video industry is in partnership with Into Film. As a result of this, a collection of 50 kid’s films are due to distributed by retailers this summer.

Belle-issima!

Coming out top of quotes with 28% of the vote is Belle’s line from Beauty and The Beast: “It’s not until you lose everything that you truly appreciate everything.”

The Sword and The Stone makes it into second place (attracting 25% of the vote) with a quote from Merlin: “It’s up to you how far you’ll go. If you don’t try, you’ll never know.

In addition, making the list is Frozen’s Olaf (“Love is putting someone else’s need before yours,“), the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio (“Always let conscience be your guide“) and Edna Mode from The Incredibles (“Never look back, darling. It distracts from the now“).

Inspirational movie power

On average, Brits typically spend over an hour and a half watching movies with their family per week. This equates to a total of three days of movie watching per year.

Paul Reeve, CEO of Into Film, said, Movie quotes have become ingrained in our culture. Some even become part of everyday vernacular.

Films offer children a source of comfort, inspiration and creativity, and play an integral role in developing a child’s imagination and empathy. Along with the narrative of a film, personalities of beloved characters also teach important life lessons. Also, it encourages children to believe in themselves.

With the new campaign, we hope to inspire young people to continue on their film learning journey.
