The world expected Apple to burst into the New Year with a budget computer, if only to tempt all those new iPod owners. However, nobody expected it to be quite this deliciously small. Interestingly, the Mini Mac is based on slightly older Apple technology. For example, it uses the previous generation G4 processor, but this at least means it will be tried and trusted kit. Despite Apple’s insistence that folks should ‘bring their own keyboard and monitor’ the Mini still works out pricier than you think, by the time you’ve upgraded the somewhat basic spec machine with built-in wireless options and more RAM. Very nice though.
