The Stokke Trailz is an ideal pushchair for outdoor dads who want to share their adventures with the new arrival.

First Impressions

Some pushchairs can feel unsteady, especially on the uneven outdoor ground that parents encounter in the country, but you can tell from the first look at the Stokke Trailz, that it’s built to be sturdy and reliable. The large air-filled rubber tyres mean it’s fantastic at tackling outdoor terrain and the suspension has it running smoothly. This is an extremely steady model to push, so your baby will soon be enjoying a comfy ride.

The Trailz comes in darker colours for those who like the more traditional look, beige, bright blue or red for those dads who favour a more striking pushchair. Having a range of colours to choose from is useful when investing in a more expensive pushchair and can make it feel much more personal. The grey and the red are particularly attractive and the whole Trailz range has a very masculine feel to it. The carrycot is comfortable and cushioned, to make sure your baby feels cosy even on winter walks, not to mention being made from a resilient fabric that should stand the test of time.

Features

The carrycot and seat are in a higher position than many other strollers which really helps you feel closer to your baby. A particular plus for tall dads who may not only feel a bit silly with a low-set pushchair but also have to keep bending uncomfortably to lift the baby in and out. This is also useful for partners recovering from a caesarean section, as the baby is so much closer to you and so much easier to attend to. The added height also helps you to involve your baby in your walks, making it easier to chat to them about the landmarks and giving them better access to your facial expressions.

The Stokke Trailz feels reliable and, once the seat/carrycot is removed, collapses easily to go in the boot of a car so if you’re driving to a particular favourite walk or planning a weekend in the country it can join you easily enough. The way it collapses is the same as the Stokke Crusi, so this will be a walk in the park for Stokke fans and very simple for any parent to pick up. It is worth noting that the carrycot is fairly large, which is great for babies that like space but only practical for bigger cars.

A very useful addition is that one side of the shopping basket can be folded down so that if you are carrying something slightly longer than the basket such as firewood or hiking sticks, the side can simply be pressed down and you can fit in the longer items with no trouble at all. The basket itself is spacious and waterproof, meaning you can pack plenty of stuff without it getting wet or muddy!

Stokke provides two car seat options which can be used in conjunction with the Trailz without the use of adaptors, the Stokke iZi Go X1 by BeSafe and the Stokke iZi Sleep X3 by BeSafe. However, if neither of these appeal, there are adaptors available so that you can combine the Trailz with your preferred car seat.

FQ Verdict

You can enjoy family adventures in any season and on any terrain with the stylish Stokke Trailz, which is a perfect option for the outdoor parent.
