The Graco Evo XT is a tough buggy for rough, tough terrains.

First Impressions

The Evo XT is a robust choice for active dads who like to adventure into unknown territories. It’s very manoeuvrable and can tackle both muddy tracks and cracked pavements with ease.

It’s a little tricky to put together and the instructions aren’t the clearest, but once assembled, it feels very sturdy and reliable. You have the choice of either world-facing or parent-facing, which is always nice and not always an option with buggies suited to rougher terrains. Usefully, it can also become a travel system when combined with the Graco Snugix car seat.

Features

The design of the XT, as you might imagine, is very much geared to suit the outdoors. Front and rear mud guards have been included as well as strong puncture-resistant rubber tyres and excellent suspension. An interesting addition is a mosquito net, which is especially useful if you’re a family who like to take small treks by water.

Suitable from newborn, you can adventure with this stroller from day one. The footmuff is luxurious and comfortable, so no worries about your little one getting cold on winter walks, the rain cover fits well and the sun canopy provides good protection. The push is also smooth and the padded bumper bar gives your child plenty of security as you journey across fields and through woods.

It’s worth noting that the frame is quite wide, so narrow shop aisles could be tricky. However, with the XT being more suited to the outdoors, this doesn’t really detract from the positives. The one-hand fold is also great, and despite the wide frame making it bulky, it does manage to be relatively compact when collapsed. Good news for those with a smaller car boot.

A huge plus is definitely the size of the shopping basket, which is spacious with high sides. Whether you tend to shop often or not, a large basket means you have space for coats, changing bags and a million other things stashed underneath for long walks.

FQ Verdict

The Graco Evo XT is a resilient, strong pushchair with an intelligent design and good drive.
