To celebrate the home entertainment release of Skyscraper, we review this explosive action film.

Starring action-hero Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Will Sawyer, a former FBI Hostage Rescue team leader who now works as a security consultant for skyscrapers. Sawyer has a prosthetic leg after an extraction mission gone wrong, but is now happily married to Sarah (Neve Campbell).

But after he takes a job to assess the security of The Pearl, the tallest skyscraper in the world, based in Hong Kong, things go awry. The building’s financier developer is being extorted by an international terrorist. Once his gang starts a fire in The Pearl, trapping Will’s family, muscleman Sawyer has to save the day and defeat the hoards of baddies. While simultaneously proving his innocence after being framed for the fire.

Ridiculous fun

Skyscraper is the kind of film you where you all huddle up together on a couch as a family on a Saturday night and enjoy a couple of hours or so of ridiculous fun. It has impossible stunts, silly dialogue and buckets of tense action. What more could you ask for during an enjoyable night in?

Well, now that you can own it at home, you can ask for and receive 30 minutes of bonus footage, from deleted scenes to commentary. A towering result all round.

Skyscraper (12) is out now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
