Tickets are on now available for Kid’s Week. This a fantastic initiative that provides free tickets for children to see West End shows throughout August. Here’s some of the best shows in London that your kids will love.

Disney’s Aladdin

An adaptation of the classic Disney film from the 90s. It tells the tale of the lovable street rat who pursues the heart of Princess Jasmine with the help of the magical Genie. Magical stage effects combine with one of the funniest scripts Disney ever wrote. Plus, all those unforgettable songs like ‘A Whole New World’ and ‘Friend Like Me’.

Wicked

This alternative telling of The Wizard of Oz has been wowing family audiences for over 11 years in the West End. The show portrays the backstory of the Wicked Witch of the West. It follows her unlikely friendship with Glinda the Good Witch in her teenage years. Its truly spectacular staging is matched by its sensational score featuring spinetingling songs like ‘Defying Gravity’.

The Play that Goes Wrong

The Play that Goes Wrong was the first great success of the Mischief Theatre Company. They went on to have massive success with other comedy plays like The Comedy About a Bank Robbery (also on sale during Kid’s Week). This hilarious play follows an amateur dramatic company as they disastrously attempt to perform a murder mystery play.

Matilda The Musical

This delightful musical adaptation of the beloved Roald Dahl set a record for the number of Olivier Awards it won after it first opened in 2011. With an ingenious score written by comedian Tim Minchin, the show tells the enchanting tale of little Matilda. She’s clever girl with psychic powers who must overcome the challenges of prep school and her family.

School of Rock – The Musical

Fans of the Jack Black comedy movie will love this rocking stage adaptation where the kids play their own instruments live. Combining tracks from the movie with additional songs by the great Andrew Lloyd-Webber, this funny show follows an out of work rock singer who pretends to be a substitute teacher at a private school and creates a band with his students.
