National treasure Tom Daley opens up to FQ about fatherhood, Pampers and being caught off-guard with pee.

Tom Daley astonished the sporting world when he was the youngest finalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics at just 14. A talented diver, he has participated in plenty of major world sports events since, including the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games where he bagged a couple of bronzes along the way.

But his greatest success is surely to be found away from the pool. Not long after he married Dustin Lance Black, they started a family with the birth of their son, Robbie Rae, born to a surrogate.

Speaking exclusively to FQ, Daley revealed the excitement at being the brand’s first ambassador as part of a same-sex couple: “It’s awesome that Pampers wanted to partner with a dad, and not only that but a dad from a same sex-couple.”

But the most important change in his life is of course becoming a dad. “When you become a father, everything shifts. Robbie is the most important thing in my life, and I will do anything to ensure he is happy and healthy. I’ve experienced some amazing things in my diving career, but nothing compares with having Robbie.” Luckily for the couple, their experience of being first-time parents is a success. “It’s wonderful. I knew I always wanted children, and it’s just the best feeling. Robbie has brought so much joy and love into our family, it’s been incredible.“
