Pampers has come together with Unicef to help provide live-saving vaccines for babies in need.

More than 700,000 are born in the UK, with the privilege of a healthcare system for all. Yet there are approximately 130 million babies born around the world every year. And many of them are without access to basic healthcare, meaning every day can prove dangerous.

Maternal and Newborn Tetanus (MNT) is a fatal – yet preventable – disease. It affects families in some of the poorest areas in the world, caused by a lack of sufficient medical protection and care.

As part of an ongoing commitment to better support the healthy development of all babies around the world, Pampers and Unicef have teamed up to help those in need.

How to help

From now until December, for every pack of Pampers you buy with a Unicef logo on it, Pampers will donate one life-saving vaccine against MNT to Unicef.

As Mike Penrose, Unicef UK Executive Director, said: “Thanks to the support of Pampers and parents, through our vaccine program, we have been able to save more than half a million newborns from MNT, which is a deadly, yet preventable, disease.

Our challenge is to eliminate the disease in the remaining 14 countries by 2020, and ensure the women living in these poor and remote communities have access to the life-saving vaccine, so it can’t be passed onto their newborns.”
