The world rejoices as the newest member of the royal family is born.
After months of growing excitement (as well as a growing belly), the Duke of Sussex announced that his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, gave birth to a boy yesterday.
He said Meghan and the baby were doing “incredibly well”, though they are still thinking of names. The baby was delivered at 5:26am on Monday with the duke present.
Buckingham Palace said the baby weighed 7lbs 3oz (3.2kg). The baby boy is seventh in line to the throne and is the Queen’s eighth great-grandchild. A framed notice of birth is on display on a ceremonial easel outside Buckingham Palace until 8pm tonight.
