Add a Pop to your daily parenting routine with this lightweight and easy-to-use stroller from Silver Cross.

First Impressions

As you might imagine, the Pop’s design is really compact and the dual colour choices now include bright red (Chilli), purple (Aubergine) and lime green (Wasabi), as well as the more conventional black, grey and brown. Despite being a lightweight buggy, all the stylish and smart Silver Cross hallmarks are still present, including the branding written neatly on the side and hood, which is always an appealing addition.

Features

The real selling point of the Pop is that you can use it one handed, while holding a child or carrying a bag in the other. Folding it and unfolding it is supremely easy with just a simple one hand umbrella mechanism. The seat recline, again, is a one handed job with a button to go down and a strap to pull up. This is a smooth and silent function, so will not be uncomfortable for your little one or disturb their nap. The seat is also nice and wide so fast-growing toddlers certainly won’t feel squashed, while the five-point harness and adjustable calf support keep your youngster safe and secure.

In terms of functionality, the hood extends well, providing great coverage from all weathers, and the rain cover keeps your little one dry. The hood also has a peep through window which is UPF 50 – a thoughtful touch and making it quite easy to keep an eye on them, particularly when small. Although the handle isn’t adjustable, the ride overall is solid, the swivel wheels provide good manoeuvrability and the buggy offers a nice amount of storage room, with an extra pocket and roomy basket.

Another really useful feature for busy parents is that once collapsed, the Pop can be locked into place on both sides. Once locked, it has an attachable strap which means you can simply sling it over your shoulder rather than needing a free hand to carry it.

If you are using this buggy for a young baby, you might want to purchase the footmuff to ensure they’re not exposed to the elements. Plus, for parents who keep an eye out for those small but priceless design features, the optional multi-purpose cup holder will let you charge around town with a Costa on board – perfect after those sleepless nights.

FQ Verdict

The Silver Cross Pop is a great lightweight buggy that parents will find easy to use on a daily basis. Although technically suitable from birth, its one hand system, excellent storage and shoulder strap make it more of a stylish and practical choice for toddlers and up.
