January is a week away! Time to lay out your goals for 2020 and your plan to achieve them.

It’s time to set your New Year’s resolutions. We’ve got a list of ideas if you’re looking for inspiration for planning the year ahead.

Drink more water

May sound simple enough, but many of us are not drinking enough water throughout the day. While you don’t necessarily need to aim for ‘Eight glasses a day’ like the age old myth says, you need to make sure that you are staying hydrated.


Eight glasses is the recommend amount however, there are many ways to drink more water. Fruit and vegetables, for example. are a great and easy way to eat more water. Carrying a water bottle with you, will help you to remember to drink water. Or try, switching soft drinks for water with meals.

Be more active

Shedding pounds is always among the most popular of New Year’s resolutions. However, that doesn’t mean you have to hit the gym everyday. Going for a daily walk, doing yoga, or trying a new HIIT workout can be just as effective. You will also be more likely to stick to a new exercise regime if you enjoy what you’re doing.

Eat healthier

Make a small step first, like eating breakfast everyday. Kick-starting your morning with a healthy meal can help energise you for the entire day. Additionally, you can try adding in more vegetables at meals to make healthier food choices.

Whether you’re packing lunches for just you or the entire family, there are healthy swaps you can make to ditch unhealthy snacks. Eating a more nutrient dense meal will keep you and your loved ones fuller for longer.

Get more sleep

Take more time for yourself

Whether it’s five minutes a day, or an hour. Making a dedicated time for yourself is vital to your mental health. It is easy to get busy with the day to day things that must be done. Whether it’s work, cooking and cleaning, or looking after the kiddos- it seems like there are not enough hours in a day. However, taking the time to do something for yourself each day will help increase your mood and overall self.
