Spring is nearly here, so celebrate it with these six outdoorsy ventures.

Spring is in the air – or at least it feels it with the unusually warm winter weather we’ve been experiencing. But for when it officially arrives (20th March in case you were wondering), here are six things to do to with either the family or on your own to make the most of the season.

Spring cleaning

A favourite for this time of year is to clean out the old and bring in the new. Take this time to reorganise your home or gather together those clothes you haven’t worn in a while. Go on, give your home a deep scrub and watch how invigorated you feel.

Gardening

Gardening is not just pleasant for the eyes, it can also be therapeutic for the soul. Planting a garden is an activity that the entire family can be a part of. Children will love watching their seedlings grow and blossom.

Get active

With temperatures rising and the days growing longer, it’ll be easy to get out of the house and enjoy the day. Go for a walk or enjoy an afternoon at the playground. You can even pack up a picnic to enjoy in the park (as long you can avoid the British rain!).

Build a bird’s nest

Warmer temperatures bring about new kinds of wildlife. A great way to teach your little one about different birds in your area is to build your own birdfeeders. Birdfeeders can be made with simple ingredients, such as peanut butters and pine cones. Check out other great ideas to build your birdfeeder here.

Dine al fresco

Springtime means it is finally warm enough to sit outside. Enjoy a cup of coffee while you bask in the morning sunshine. Or meet up with coworkers for lunch with fresh air blowing around you.

Go to a festival

Festivals come alive once the weather is warm. Stake out the next festival in your area. Take a date for a stroll around an art festival or bring the family to a music festival. Being together in the sunshine is bound to bring good times for everyone.
