As autumn sets in and National Tyre Safety Month kicks off, Bridgestone is ramping up its tyre safety initiatives with key campaigns aimed at British motorists.

From October to November, anyone purchasing two or more Bridgestone tyres will receive a complimentary winter safety bundle. This kit includes essential items like a tread depth gauge, ice scraper, and a locking wheel nut bag, all designed to help families maintain their vehicles during the colder months.

A recent survey revealed that 63% of drivers wait until their car fails its MOT before buying new tyres, while 11% wait until their tyres are completely bald. Government data shows over 2.15 million MOT failures each year due to tyre defects, underscoring the need for regular checks.

To tackle these issues, Bridgestone’s ‘Stay Safe This Autumn’ promotion rewards customers with a Car Care Pack when they purchase tyres, along with a chance to win one of two £5,000 cash prizes.

Bridgestone encourages all drivers to follow three simple steps for tyre safety:

  1. Inspect Regularly: Check tyre pressures and tread depth at least once a month.
  2. Know the Law: The minimum legal tread depth is 1.6mm, but it’s advisable to replace tyres well before reaching this limit.
  3. Ask the Experts: Seek a free check from a qualified technician if you’re unsure.
