The BYD DOLPHIN is part of the Ocean series and is a C-segment hatchback with a smart, expressive design, versatility, and the latest EV technology. Named after the dolphin’s intelligence, playful nature, and amiable character, this vehicle has greatly adapted to BYD’s innovative design concept, “Ocean Aesthetics,” which gives it a particular iconic appearance.

The BYD DOLPHIN is driven by 60.4 kWh and a newly introduced 44.9 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate BYD Blade Battery, setting new safety and energy efficiency benchmarks for the EV segment. The BYD DOLPHIN Active, with its 44.9 kWh battery and 70 kW motor churning out 95 ps, boasts a range of 211 miles, while the Boost model, with an identical 44.9 kWh battery but a more powerful 130 kW motor with 176 ps, manages 193 miles. Both models can charge quickly on DC power, too: with a 100 kW DC charger, the battery will go from 30 to 80 per cent in just 28 minutes.

The BYD DOLPHIN features, for efficiency, a standard high-efficiency heat pump and the industry’s first direct cooling and heating system for batteries – up to 15% improved thermal efficiency in winter. In addition, the regenerative braking system efficiently recovers braking energy and further contributes to overall energy conservation.

Measuring 4,290 mm in length and 1,770 mm in width, the interior of the BYD DOLPHIN offers ample space for five passengers. The ergonomically designed vegan leather sports seats and over 20 practical storage spaces ensure both comfort and convenience. The vehicle’s e-Platform 3.0 also enables the rear seats to provide ample legroom, with the option to expand the 345-litre boot to 1,310 litres by splitting the rear seats in a 60:40 configuration. You’ll get three kids in the back – no problem. Two adults will be comfortable, but three would be a squeeze.

One of the most distinctive highlights of the BYD DOLPHIN is its VtoL discharge back capability, which reaches 3.3 kW external discharge.
