Once upon a time, dads in mainstream media tended to conform to certain stereotypes. The comic relief doofus, the steady provider, the voice of reason, wheeled out to dispense advice to teens and tweens. But these days, the landscape has changed, and dads have taken to the digital waves to share a new main character energy.

The current dad podcast wave is less about expertise and more about experience, and the willingness to learn and share. Young kids, busy work lives, relationships under pressure, and a growing sense that fatherhood is not something you arrive at fully formed. Whether as part of a couple, or in an all-dads group, fatherhood is front and centre of this new wave of podcasts.
