Water, upgraded: two of the best Waterdrop filters
From a beautifully simple glass filter jug to hot and cold filtered water on demand, Waterdrop offers two more ways to elevate your tap water game.

The glass act: Waterdrop PT-72W
There’s something immediately more appealing about a glass water filter jug, which is why the Waterdrop PT-72W feels more substantial and more premium than the plastic versions many of us are used to, and the difference isn’t just aesthetic.
Filtered water tastes noticeably fresher and cleaner, while the glass body avoids that faint plasticky quality associated with traditional filter jugs.
But the cleverest feature is probably the lid. Rather than removing it every time you fill the jug, you simply run water onto the filling area, and the inlet opens automatically under the flow, closing again when you stop. It’s a tiny design detail, but one that makes the boring job of filling the jug feel satisfying.
Inside is a five-stage filtration system using carbon fibre, ion-exchange resin and activated carbon block. Waterdrop research says it helps reduce chlorine, mercury, copper, cadmium, PFOA/PFOS, sediment and other impurities, while the filter carries NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 372 certifications.
The jug holds 2.5 litres: each filter lasts up to 100 gallons or around two months, depending on use, and there’s a simple dial timer to remember when to change it.
FQ verdict: stylish, simple and genuinely pleasant to use. The glass construction and auto-opening fill lid turn a very ordinary household product into something that feels surprisingly well thought through.

Hot, cold and ready when you are: Waterdrop CT01
For families wanting something a little more high-tech, the Waterdrop CT01 takes a different approach.
This installation-free countertop dispenser provides filtered hot and cold water on demand, so there’s no waiting for a jug to filter and no repeatedly boiling the kettle. Five one-touch presets cover hot water, coffee, tea, formula and cold water, while six temperature settings and five volume settings allow you to tailor each pour.
Its 5-litre capacity is designed with family use in mind, and the CT01 uses multi-stage filtration to reduce common impurities while retaining minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Unlike a reverse-osmosis system, it produces no wastewater.
There’s also a favourite mode for saving your preferred temperature and volume combination, plus a filter-life indicator and simple twist-in replacement system.
The result is something that sits neatly between a traditional water filter jug and one of Waterdrop’s more sophisticated reverse-osmosis machines: much more convenient than a basic pitcher, but without the complexity or higher price of a full RO system.
FQ verdict: a clever family-friendly upgrade for anyone who gets through endless cups of tea, coffee, bottles and glasses of water. The instant hot-and-cold functionality is the real draw here.
