NHS Property Services (NHSPS) recently took part in celebrating Pride by marching in the Manchester Pride Parade to show support for LGBT+ colleagues and communities.

The march took place on 26 August and 50 NHSPS staff joined the festivities to promote inclusivity in the workplace – and broader society.

In 2022, NHSPS participated in Brighton Pride; a parade where workers took part and celebrated 30 years of Pride whilst showcasing NHSPS’ Prism Network.

This year, walking groups saw colleagues and allies from across the business – especially those who live in the Manchester locality – celebrate LGBT+ identities and accomplishments, whilst reflecting on their struggle for equality.

Min Rodriguez, Head of Culture and Inclusion for NHSPS, said: “The diversity of our colleagues is something we celebrate at NHSPS. Not only does this make us a more dynamic organisation but allows us to harness different skills, perspectives, and experiences to deliver the best property and facilities management services to the NHS.”

She added: “We will reflect on the challenges LGBT+ communities face and ensure that we can offer an inclusive and accepting work environment, regardless of identity. I hope that our participation in the Manchester Pride March will show that we mean business when it comes to supporting and promoting LGBT+ communities.”

Helen McCarthy, Chief People Officer for NHSPS, commented: “As a member of the LGBT+ community, I’m delighted that our colleagues will be marching and demonstrating how much we have grown as a business over the past 10 years. We will continue to place an emphasis on inclusivity during our 10th anniversary celebrations and beyond.”
